monday april 30th-

venus in gemini semisextiles jupiter in taurus at 1:54pm, harmoniously aligning the two greater benefics in positive, expansive ways.  this is a great aspect for socializing, enjoying life and generously sharing ourselves with others.  in the midst of the intense astrology of late this aspect is a nice little breather in the cosmos ;)

mars in virgo squares the nodes in sagittarius and gemini (north and south respectively) at 4:30pm, bringing us to a crossroads in regards to our masculine energy, will, drive and how we deal with anger and assertiveness in our life.  mars is now direct but he is still in his shadow as he is retracing his steps he made when he went backwards.  mars square the nodes brings us to a point in time where we can take a leap into the unknown and grow/evolve OR we can stay stuck in the karmic patterns of the past and keep doing what we've always done (and keep getting what we've always got!).  virgo and gemini, where mars and the karmic south node are, are ruled by mercury and have the mind and intellect in common.  sagittarius is ruled by jupiter and the north node here represents moving beyond the lower/little/egoic mind and seeing the Bigger Picture.  we are being asked to go beyond what we know, open our minds and grow!  learning how and when to assert ourselves, express our anger and take action is key.  there can be a fiesty energy in the air this afternoon/evening- but if we find healthy outlets for our energy we can find pivotal turning points in certain situations in our lives that shift things for the better.

 

tuesday may 1st-

mercury in aries semisquares neptune in pisces at 8:37am, creating tension between the logical, linear mind and the planet of mysticism, illusion and confusion.  mercury/neptune can be very intuitive and psychic OR it can be delusional and deceptive.  trying to get clear on what we are thinking, hearing and understanding is key- yet the neptune fog may make it hard to tell what is real and what is not.  pay attention to your dreams, images and intuition this morning.

mercury in aries makes a super aspect to juno today by contraparalleling retrograde juno in sagittarius at 9:39am and sesquiquadrating juno at 3:13pm.   this double aspect heightens the dynamic between the mind and the asteroid goddess governing partnership and marriage.  communication in relationships is key today- yet the aspects are tense so it may be hard to get on the same page or see where someone else is coming from.  with mercury in aries we are being asked to speak our Truth but the line between doing so and trying to control/dominate others is fine.  getting clear on agreements and boundaries in relationship is key, first within ourselves and then with others.  

chiron in pisces sextile ceres in taurus at 7:41pm, harmoniously aligning the wounded healer with the mother goddess.  last week thursday through sunday the sun aligned with ceres and then linked up with chiron and pluto.  this week chiron and pluto make exact aspect to ceres.  deep healing, transformation and opportunities for empowerment and change are up right now in family dynamics, with our mothers, with the archetypal Mother, and with our needs for safety, security and nurturing.  with chiron aspecting ceres tonight healing around the earth, nature, the body and maternal energy is very present and available for us all.  do something to connect to Mother Earth, your personal Mother, the Divine Mother and/or the Mother within you tonight.  

 

wednesday may 2nd-

mercury in aries sesquiquadreates the north node in sagittarius at 10:21pm, bringing some tension between our need to speak up and assert ourselves and our need to grow, evolve and move forward on our personal journey of the Soul.  finding ways to speak our Truth that don't keep us stuck in karmic patterns and behaviors that limit our growth and evolution is key.  

retrograde pluto in capricorn trines ceres in taurus at 11:25pm, aligning the planet of transformation and empowerment with the asteroid goddess of mothering, nurturing and sustenance.  this powerful aspect confers an ability to deepen our connection to the Divine Mother (within and without) in profound ways.  grounding, connecting to the body and nature and realizing that the way we caretake Earth reflects our level of consciousness is key right now.  knowing what we need to do to transform and regenerate this earthly experience for the better is only half the battle- then we need to DO IT.

 

thursday may 3rd-

mercury in aries sesquiquadrates mars in virgo at 7:54am, bringing a fiesty and perhaps aggressive energy into communication today.  mercury and mars are in mutual reception- mercury rules virgo and mars rules aries- so there is a harmony between the two, yet the aspect they make is tense.  finding ways to speak up, set boundaries and say no is key- yet doing so in violent or aggressive ways is not likely to get us anywhere good anytime soon.  yet we still may find that that energy comes out today- if so find healthy ways to channel it.  

at the same time that mercury aspects mars, mercury semisextiles jupiter in taurus as well (exact at 7:54am).  where mercury/mars is firey and perhaps conflictual, mercury/jupiter is expansive and abundant and can get over the top.  mercury/jupiter can help us to see the Bigger Picture if we can detach from ego and our need to be right (mercury/mars can lend to the latter, rather than the former).  either way a lot of firey energy is available right now, so consciously choosing how to work with it is key.

neptune in pisces squares retrograde juno in sagittarius at 12:51pm, creating tension between the planet of dissolution and fantasy and the asteroid goddess of partnership and marriage.   positively this aspect can be experienced as very romantic and idealistic in partnership, but on the shadow side all our projections, fantasies and unrealistic ideals can also come up to be dealt with.  anything that is put on a pedestal will at some point fall- so in relationships where reality wasn't being dealt with can be experienced as very disappointing right now.  the best use of this energy is to see through the facade of idealism to get to the Truth.  relationships based on a solid awareness of both Light and shadow can be beautiful right now, but ones that are based on avoidance or denial of the shadow can be quite the opposite experience.

mercury in aries sextiles venus in gemini 8:01pm, harmoniously aligning the mind and the heart.  speaking from the heart, sharing our feelings, being socially graceful and communicating with kindness is supported tonight.  mercury is very active today (and this week for that matter) so communication is definitely a focus right now.  finding ways to think and communicate with heart-centered awareness is key.

saturday may 5th-

mercury in aries semisquares chiron in pisces at 9:31am, bringing opportunities to communicate that are healing but also possibly wounding.  speaking about our wounds with others is supported but we need to be aware that words spoken with too much fire or anger can be very wounding at this time.  

mars  in virgo contraparallels neptune in pisces at 11:27am, energetically opposing the will with the planet that dissolves will and ego energies.  positively this can be a time of spiritual focus and desire to take action from a Higher place.  the shadow side is that our will can be weak and our ego energies diffused so much that we have a hard time maintaining boundaries and getting clear on what actions we need to take.

throughout the day there is a super aspect between mercury in aries and retrograde saturn in libra.  mercury contraparallels saturn at 11:43am and he opposes saturn at 6:07pm.  with a double aspect between mercury and saturn communication and dealing with reality are key- yet the tense aspects between these two can highlight limitations of the mind, restrictions in communication and even depression in our thinking.  seeing reality as it is may not be pretty, but it is necessary.  dealing with reality and having conversations that are tough, but necessary, are highlighted tonight.

the last celestial occurrence of the day and week occurs at 8:35pm with the full moon in scorpio.  the sun in taurus is precisely opposite the full moon in scorpio, bringing things to Light, culmination and/or fruition.  an illumination to our attachments on the physical plain can arise, but also opportunities to release those attachments and transform physical reality.  the sun in taurus is aligned with benevolent jupiter and is almost exactly conjunct black moon lilith (by one minute!)- bringing the expansion and healing of the Dark Goddess energies into the atmosphere.  for more info on this full moon read the lunar insight posted on my site a few days before the lunation.
